North Camp Celebrates VE Day

Last month North Camp marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day in style, with local shops decorating their windows and storefronts in colourful bunting to honour the occasion.

The tea shop around the corner

A special mention goes to the tea shop around the corner, which hosted a truly spectacular VE Day celebration. Here’s what they had to say:

"The tea shop was filled with joy, nostalgia, and heartfelt emotion as we commemorated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. The D-Day Dollies graced us with their enchanting wartime melodies, bringing the spirit of the 1940s alive. Customers sang along, smiles were abundant, and there were even a few tears as we remembered the sacrifices made for our freedom. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this special celebration. Let’s continue to remember and honor those who gave so much for our country."

It can’t go without mentioning that North Camp shop owners also came together to host a fantastic community bake sale, raising funds to help revitalise North Camp. Thanks to the generosity and support of everyone involved, we raised an amazing £500!

We were also thrilled to welcome Chloe Ching, Miss Unique 2024, who joined us for meet-and-greets and lent a helping hand at the bake sale. Her presence added an extra sparkle to what was already a wonderful day.

Thank you to everyone who took part—whether decorating, baking, donating, or simply showing up to support. North Camp continues to thrive because of the incredible people who call it home.a comment, or add a button with your main call-to-action, e.g., Buy Now or Subscribe.
